Alcatraz was inspired by the new TV series Alcatraz. It's a fictional type show about how the prisoners from Alcatraz, according to the Government, were supposedly transferred off the island. But that is not was the show is implying. The prisoners are appearing in the present time committing crimes again in the city of San Fransisco. A detective teams up with a historian of Alcatraz and it's in-mates that studied and solved various crimes and mysteries that accrued around the time the prison was functional. The original design was from a game called Alcatraz by City Works. It's layout is identical to that of the actual Alcatraz island but with a few adjustments for proper game play. Most real life areas are not practical for FPS game play, so the level creator has to be creative in design and in what would be feasible for good game play. I decided not to do the whole island in this map, but rather produce a series. This is of course due to the limitations of the engine I'm mapping for. The map will have a ship out in the waters that players will spawn on and can either snipe from or swim to shore for closer action. These shots are preliminary shots and will be updated as newer revisions of the map occur.
